This paper briefly introduces the situation of Greening Exposition of Zhengzhou and its or- ban gardens. Then this article analyses the main characters of landscape design of urban gardens and talks about the content and means of cultural expression in urban gardens landscape design. Through the surveys and observation, we can know that landscape design of urban gardens has distinctive char- acteristics and rich content. Based on the uncovering of city culture and applying of concept and tech- pique of modem landscape design,urban gardens which have regional characteristic and culture con- notation are created by means of rich design language and a variety of cultural expression which can express city information and shape city characteristics.
