Based on stress-strength interference model,the relationship of average safety factor and reliability are derived when the distribution of stress and strength are subordinated to normal distribution or others,and the reliability design method based on average safety factor were introduced.It is shown that the reliability design method is feasible and useful to improve the design standard for mechanical parts and reduce the cost of them.
