Researches on the potential of urban land are the base of reasonable and sufficient utilization and protection of soil by city erectors.Taking Tangshan city as example,this paper focuses on the evaluation system,evaluation unit and evaluation model.Based on technologies of RS,GIS and database,the research developed the analysis and evaluation system of soil potential integrating recent earth information management technology.This system provides not only the basis for the land evaluation,but also the method for the inquiry,statistic analysis,printing of spatial and attribute data.
