Uncertain variable is used to represent imprecise quantities and is one of three fundamentalconcepts in uncertainty theory.By using the linear uncertainty distribution and a structural method,this paper proves an existence theorem on uncertain variable.This theorem shows there must exist anuncertainty space and uncertain variable-for a given uncertainty distribution.
