The Journal of Hebei University of Engineering (Natural Science Edition) (hereinafter referred to as the Journal) is an academic journal approved by the National Press and Publication Administration for domestic and international distribution. Committed to enriching scientific culture, promoting academic exchanges, discovering and nurturing talents, and serving the advancement of both material and spiritual civilization, it is regularly indexed in Chemical Abstracts (CA, USA), Abstracts Journal (AJ, Russia), and over a dozen major domestic databases and authoritative abstract services. The Journal has authorized China Academic Journals (CD Edition) Electronic Publishing House and Wanfang Database to disseminate full-text articles digitally via information networks. Submission of manuscripts to the Journal constitutes the author's agreement to the above statement.

1. Scope

The Journal primarily publishes academic papers in natural sciences, including civil engineering, electromechanical engineering, computer applications, information science, municipal engineering, heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC), architectural science, earth science, mining engineering, water resources and hydropower engineering, and mathematics and physics.

2. Submission requirements

(1) An original research manuscript must feature novel topics, complete structure, reliable evidence, sound reasoning, rigorous logic, authentic data, concise language, and strong readability. It must be free of plagiarism, infringement, or other academic misconduct, and has neither been published elsewhere nor is it currently under review for publication in another journal.

(2) Authors must be individuals who directly participated in the research or provided substantial guidance (e.g., academic supervisors). Personnel who assisted with experiments may be acknowledged in the Acknowledgments section. The submitting author holds the copyright to the manuscript and is responsible for its authenticity and scientific integrity. For online submissions, a Copyright Transfer Agreement (signed by all authors) must be provided, confirming that no confidential information is disclosed, authorship is accurate, and the manuscript is not submitted elsewhere. The Editorial Office retains the rights to compile, print, reproduce, distribute, and disseminate the electronic version of the manuscript via information networks, and also reserves the right to make non-substantive editing and deletions to the text, figures or tables.

(3) The Journal implements double-blind peer review, with manuscripts evaluated by two or more experts. Specific manuscript processing procedures and timelines are detailed in "Review Process" and "Peer Review".

(4) Manuscripts must be prepared in a standardized format with complete sections presented in the following order: Chinese Title (≤20 Chinese characters), Author(s) information (including affiliation, address, postal code), Chinese Abstract (covering research objective, method, results, and conclusion; ≥400 Chinese characters), Key words (3 to 8), English information (must correspond exactly to the Chinese information above, including English Title, Author(s) information, Abstract, and Key words), Chinese Library Classification (CLC) number, Main text (Introduction should include research background, a comprehensive overview of current research in the field (mandatory), and the specific focus or novelty of the present study), and References (not less than 20, with English equivalents for Chinese sources).

(5) At the bottom of the first page, indicate in sequence: date of receipt (in format: YYYY-MM-DD, e.g., 2015-02-20), funding information (including the funding source, project name, and grant number), and brief bios of the first and corresponding authors (including full name (year of birth—), gender, ethnicity (Han Chinese may be omitted), place of origin, professional title, highest academic degree, and research field).

(6) Symbols and units for physical quantities must comply with national and international standards. Please ensure clear distinction between roman and italic fonts, uppercase and lowercase letters for foreign characters, as well as superscript and subscript for data.

(7) Figures and tables must include captions in both Chinese and English. For illustrations, ensure complete labeling of vertical and horizontal axes (including physical quantity names, symbols, and units). Whenever possible, provide color images with distinct layers, clear resolution, uniform line thickness, and aesthetically balanced proportions (Recommendation: Create line graphs using software like Origin and chemical structures using tools like ChemBioDraw, then copy them into the document.). Tables should be presented in the three-line table format.

(8) Manuscripts requiring revisions or supplementary experiments after peer review must be returned to the Editorial Office within two months. If difficulties arise, promptly notify the Editorial Office. Failure to meet this deadline will result in automatic withdrawal of the manuscript.

(9) References must be cited in the text, arranged in the order of their appearance, and formatted according to the Chinese National Standard GB/T 7714—2025. All punctuation marks within the references list should be in Chinese style (except for the middle dot "."), and no space should be added after any punctuation mark (except after the middle dot ".", where a space is required).
