Based on the theory of Conceptual Transfer, this thesis sets out to examine errors of verb-noun collocations produced by Chinese non-English majors via Corpus-based approach both quantitively and qualitatively. Texts used in the current research are selected from St3 & St4 sub-corpora in Chinese Learner English Corpus (CLEC). AncConc3.58 is applied as searching tool s to extract the errors occurred in the writings of college students. Then the potential reasons resulting in verb-noun collocations errors are discussed and reflections on College English teaching are presented.
