Pragma-translatology is a new discipline built on the dilemma of traditional Translation Studies and the boom of Pragmatics.This paper selects some relative linguistic data from the original text and its Chinese translation of Soldier's Home respectively,and makes a brief analysis towards the data in terms of different linguistic levels.By applying the two basic concepts of pragmatic research——Meaning and Context,to the comparative analysis,the paper aims to illustrate that Pragma-translatology can offer a brand-new perspective to solve the contradictions existed in the translation theories,then play a significant role in the translation process.
