Linguistics course is a compulsory knowledge course for English majors. Being abstract, it is hard forstudents to learn. Based on questionnaires and the reform direction of the subject university, this paper suggestsadjusting the current teacher-centered teaching concept; blending typical textbooks to show foundation,enlightenment and exploration in teaching content; adjusting the teaching procedure to give prominence to thestudents' central role in learning. The subject course increases TEM 8 and other needed points in content,interaction in class to arouse the students' interest and help them better understand the nature of language andlinguistics, bettering the current situation of the course.
