The basic computer course is one of the required curriculums of all majors of the whole universitystage, while the basic computer education doesn't keep pace tightly with the mainstream direction and trend of thedevelopment of current information technology, so it is far from reaching to the computer capability required bythe market for the talents with high technical ability at present. The problems such as teaching contents stagnation,teaching methods and examination methods that were too conservative are prominent. Therefore, the purpose ofbasic computer education should switch from the past exam-oriented education to the computer operating skillsand knowledge ability training. Through discussing the way of the basic computer education, teaching content andexamination system these three aspects, this paper expounds the necessity of the reform of the basic computereducation, and correlative methods and measures.
