With the rapid development of the library cause,most of colleges are busy building new libraries,they also attach importance to the recreational space,which not only represents the library image,also has its irreplaceable function.This paper points out the meaning and function of recreation space,and puts forward some suggestions on the recreation space design around the library based on the behavior characteristics and needs of teachers and students,such as the main entrance area,the front yard,back yard,balcony and roof platform.Taking the library of Hebei University of Engineering as an example,the paper puts forward some opinions for it with the hope that this writing can provide reference for the recreation space design around the library.
