Abstract:Focusing on the issue of English Majors' "Lack of Critical Literacy", this paper makes the English majors' critical literacy development as research subject. Through heuristic teaching activities and questionnaire, it aims to find whether the course satisfies the students' need of information; which activity can best facilitate the students' critical literacy. The result shows that for the students, the amount of information they get from the course is enough, but the course book needs to be updated. The critical-thinking-promoting activities are welcome,especially class debate. This research proves that the critical literacy development lies in the students' "learning with thinking".
