Abstract:Abstract: White Noise, a classic work of the American postmodernist literature, through its detailed textual descriptions, represents such consumerist spectacles as shopping malls, supermarkets, mass media, advertising design, family and social relations, toxics, and the fear of death. These spectacles in this novel profoundly expose the typical characteristics of the post-modern consumer society, explore the living conditions of modern men, and clearly show the peculiar charm of the post-modernist novels.
