In Hume's political philosophy, the concept of justice is divided into two levels, i.e. justice as regulation and justice as virtue. The former level is concerned and studied a lot, yet the latter seems to be out of spotlight for a long time, thus the true sense of justice as virtue slipped away and it causes a serial of misunderstanding. Hence, a further analysis and clarification on Hume's two-dimensional view of justice is essential for us to comprehend his political philosophy accurately.
