Abstract:This paper analyzes manipulated tranlation of The Garlic Ballads from the perspective of ideology. By comparing and analyzing many an example, this paper clarifies that there is abundant rewriting in the novel despite the fact that the English version is basically faithful to the original one. In conclusion, translators are always affected by ideological elements such as literary genre,or personal aesthetic and rewrite the original version, consciously or unconsciously, during the translation process.
