Alexandre Dumas, fils, born in the end of 1800s, was a well-known French novelist, dramatist and moralist. Because of his miserable life experience, in almost all of his works, he strongly criticized the extravagant and outrageous behaviors of the French capitalist class. The Lady of the Camellias is based on his personal experience and deeply impressed by its presentation techniques of humanism.
