In Elizabethan period,seven "university wits",who absorbed the Greek and Roman dramatic versification,established the British tragedy and comedy by incorporating Chaucer's realism tradition,and also had an important impact on Shakespeare's creation.Shakespeare created famous histories,tragedies,comedies,romantic and tragicomedies,which enriched the types of British drama and made an important contribution to the development of English language.
