Abstract:A Rose for Emily attracts many scholars' interest; however, who sent Emily a rose still keeps a mystery. The article analyzes this question from visual power, pointing out that Emily, as an individual having been watched, faces the town people standing for the collective power of watching, rebels strongly in her life in order to make watcher and people being watched equal by complying with the town people on the surface. Finally, Emily win a rose which representing respect from Faulkner.
