Study on the types of folklores mainly focuses on the presentation of inheritance history and the interpretation of variant texts with less attention on the motives and reasons of these inheritances. By introducing Mode of Transition Rites, this paper will explore the folktale Golden Millet Dream to show the life phase transitions and the social characteristics implied in the folklore types, the interpretation and transition of which is seen as the main reasons of the inheritance of most types of folklores.
