Due to misreading of Cao Shu forms, there still have existed some error forms of Chinese character in the prevalent versions of "Outlaws of the Marsh". In Rong Yutang version the existing earliest complete version of "Outlaws of the Marsh", due to error forms there are puzzling words like "狮子腿", "三寸钉(丁) 谷树皮", and "用五轮八宝萬着两点唇水眼". The "腿", "谷", "萬", "着", and "唇" are error forms of "髓", "枯", "左", "右", and "神" respectively("眼" being redundancy due to misprinting or miscopying). These error forms in the Rong Yutang version shows it inherits the writing style of the original version of "Outlaws of the Marsh", proving it keeps the most original form of "Outlaws of the Marsh".
