This paper tries to make a classification of process types, participants and the meanings and argument structure of processes based on the light verb theory to make the classification of transitivity more reasonable. Based on the light verb theory, it is found that (1) all clauses are transitive; (2) each process is a match of form and meanings; (3) the transitivity is clausal, not verbal; (4) the formal description of the processes is helpful for the computer processing.
