Abstract:The metallurgy principle was considered as one of the hardest lessons taught in the department of metallurgy engineering at the Hebei University of Engineering. Due to the failure of many students in passing the first attempt, the primary reason for carrying out this research is that the failure rate was approximately 30% which is the highest percentage among all lessons for the last two years. Therefore, to suggest the key reasons for various difficulties in learning, this study comes to look at the problems encountered by students during their study of this lesson by taking 107 students in the second stage of 2016-2017 academic year as a test sample. To minimize the learning difficulty problems, the suggestions are made on ways based on understandings of attitudes and motivation as well as the teaching methods of how learning takes place.
