With development of modern information technology, there are many urgent problems of geographic science talents cultivation in application-oriented transformation development of regional universities, such as the lack of practical application ability, the backwardness of information technology, the difficulty of institutions examination and the relatively limited job prospect. According to running direction and transformation development demand of Chuzhou university, combined with advantages of School of Geographic Information and Tourism in "3S" and modern surveying technology, the direction of "land remediation project" is entrusted to geographic science. Around the development direction, this paper explores the transformation development of geographic science talents cultivation from aspects of professional construction and planning, curriculum system and talents cultivation program construction, teacher training and improving measures and construction of teaching quality assurance and monitoring system.
