Abstract:Protecting the legitimate rights and interests of investors is the primary principle of financial market supervision. For financial advisors, it is becoming more and more important to assess the different risk appetites of investors. The purpose of this article is to develop a risk assessment questionnaire that meets the requirements of regulations and scientific standards based on existing tools. The validity of the questionnaire is tested by surveying real investors and combining the survey data with actual investment portfolio data. It shows that different risk preferences can be reliably measured using six items. The results support the evaluation of the validity and reliability of different risk preferences.
