Hongqiqu spirit has profound theoretical connotation and rich educational value. It is the rich nourishment of ideological and political education in colleges and universities in the new era. At present, despite the great progress, there are some problems in ideological and political education in colleges and universities, such as insufficient value guidance, insufficient ideological interpretation, and weak effectiveness of practical teaching. Based on this, the integration of Hongqiqu spirit into the ideological and political education in colleges and universities should be problem-oriented. This integration should also clarify the value connotation, theoretical logic and practical gist from three dimensions, namely, value, theory, and practice, so as to effectively promote the integration and development of the two.
