In order to lighten the burden on the people in the base areas, the CPC concentrated on better troops and simpler administration during Anti-Japanese War. One of the most important part of this action is properly resettling veterans. The county governments, the management committee of the veterans, the district public offices, and the village offices in Taihang Anti-Japanese Base made great efforts in the supply, organization and management of the veterans. In this process, they helped veterans solve their daily production and life problems, and strove to improve the relationship among veterans, cadres and the public. All these efforts enabled veterans to show their social value and self-worth. Despite some problems and contradictions in this process, it was no doubt that all these attempts had greatly pushed the resettlement work forward. It was of great significance to lighten the burden of the people, enhance the prestige and strengthen the determination of the soldiers. More importantly, this helped maintain the overall situation of Anti-Japanese War.
