Abstract:Ideological and political course teachers play a leading role in ideological and political education in colleges and universities, whose quality directly affects the quality development of college students. In this sense, promoting the self-improvement of ideological and political teachers is more conducive to the cultivation of outstanding talents, so it is an urgent need to study the evaluation criteria of excellent ideological and political teachers in the minds of college students. In order to explore such evaluation criteria in the new era, a qualitative research attempt was made, using the grounded theory research paradigm. The analysis of qualitative materials shows that the standards of excellent ideological and political teachers in college students’ minds mainly cover four dimensions, that is, moral sentiment, ability structure, personality charm, and level of conscious. They include 14 specific standards such as excellent professional quality, good personality and dedication to work, etc. Based on the above research, this paper puts forward relevant suggestions and countermeasures for the development of evaluation tools and the development of ideological and political teachers.
