Abstract:The new liberal arts advocates moral education and interdisciplinary integration. In this sense, it is a necessary requirement of the new liberal arts education to promote the curriculum construction in foreign language teaching from the ideological and political perspective. The investigation has found that the ideological and political education in foreign language teaching is faced with many problems, such as lack of initiative to carry out ideological and political education, the need to improve teaching methods and evaluation system, and students’ neglect of Chinese culture, etc. Therefore, this paper proposes some specific measures such as strengthening foreign language teachers’initiative in teaching courses from the ideological and political perspective, improving the teaching and evaluation system, delving into ideological and political elements, and optimizing the teaching faculties, etc. In this vein, this paper aims at ensuring that colleges and universities implement the fundamental task of "fostering virtue through education", creating innovative paths for colleges and universities to train foreign language talents with patriotic feelings and international vision, and helping to realize the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.
