Abstract:Chen Ziang’s experience of travelling with Wu Youyi to the northern border to fight against the Khitan in the first year of Tongtian (696 A.D.) had a profound impact on his later poetic creation and the formulation of theories such as "Xingji" and "Fenggu" in his Preface to Xiuzhu Chapter. Besides, the cultural tradition of chivalry and loyalty;established by figures like Jing Ke and Tian Guang;shaped Chen Ziang’s chivalrous personality;which was characterized by a readiness to die in gratitude. Additionally, the generous and tragic sentiment formed at the turn of the Han and Wei dynasties promoted Chen Ziang’s creation of poignant and rich poetry. Still, the simple and profound cultural style influenced by the Confucian Classics from the Han to the Tang dynasties inspired Chen Ziang’s sincere and profound cultural attitude. Moreover,Chen Ziang enriched the cultural connotation of Yan-Zhao region through repeatedly writing about this regional culture;thus achieving the construction of Yan-Zhao culture in the Tang Dynasty.
